Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed he would “prefer” to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final rather than an all Premier League tie against rivals Chelsea.
Aubameyang helped Arsenal to a 3-1 victory over Valencia in the first leg of their Europa League semi final on Thursday, to put Unai Emery’s side firmly in control heading into the second leg.
And according to the Metro, the striker revealed he would like to play Frankfurt in the final, should the Gunners progress, when asked about the potential of facing Chelsea.
No, I don’t want them [Chelsea]. We know they are a great team but hopefully first we will go to the final and then I prefer to play Frankfurt, because we have already played against Chelsea. I know Frankfurt are really good and if we both go through to the final it will be a hard one.
Pedro scored a crucial away goal for the Blues in the first leg of their Europa League semi final against Frankfurt, cancelling out Luka Jovic’s fine header in Thursday’s 1-1 draw.
