Jurgen Klopp ruled the star striker out of the Reds Champions League semi-final second leg against the La Liga champions Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino will miss the Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona on Tuesday due to a muscle injury and is a doubt for their Premier League finale against Wolves. Firmino came on in the closing stages of his side's 3-0 defeat at Camp Nou in the first leg but was left out of the squad for the win over Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday. The Brazil international may miss the rest of the season after manager Jurgen Klopp ruled the forward out of the meeting with Barca at Anfield and declined to comment on his status for the final match of the Premier League campaign. The victory over Newcastle took Liverpool two points clear of the reigning champions Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola's side set to play on Monday against Leicester City. If City drop points against the Foxes, Liverpool could win the title with a victory over Wolves at Anfield.

Kwara govt confirms new cases of COVID-19

Kwara State Government has confirmed that it has recorded two new cases of COVID-19 in the State. The State Government on its Twitter page said the total number of COVID-19 cases is now 11. Recall that the NCDC, on Thursday confirmed 108 new cases in Nigeria, bringing the total number in the country to 981. It said it recorded 78 cases in Lagos, 14 in FCT, 5 in Ogun, 4 in Gombe, 3 in Borno, 2 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Kwara and 1 in Plateau State. Kwara government tweeted, ”As at 23 April 2020. Two new COVID-19 cases confirmed ”Total test done – 278, total confirmed cases – 11, no of active cases – 9 ”Discharged – 2, no of negative test – 187, no of pending test – 80, death -0.”
