MICROSOFT WITHDRAWS SUPPORT FROM WINDOWS 10 PHONES

Technology giant, Microsoft, may have hit the final nail in the coffin of its mobile operating system, as it withdraws support for Windows 10 phones as the operating system goes out of fashion. The company said considering how robust the operating system was, it regretted seeing it run its course by December 10, 2019. The implication is that any user of a Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile phone has less than a year to upgrade to either Android or any other operating system of choice. Microsoft has already published a support page detailing Windows 10 Mobile’s end of Support. According to the company, Windows 10 Mobile users are no longer eligible to receive updates, including security updates, from December 10, 2019. Devices that are running Windows 10 Mobile version 1703 will no longer receive support even as early as June 11th, 2019. According to the company, immediately it gets to the end of support date, some of the features on the device will slowly stop working and Microsoft won’t do anything about it. However, automatic or manual device backups can extend to March 10, 2020, when everything finally winds up. The company specifically recommends its users to move to an Android or iOS device, saying its mission statement to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more, compels it to support its Mobile apps on those platforms and devices.

Ekiti mourns as First Class Monarch, Oluyin dies

The former Chief Judge of Ekiti State and the Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti, Oba Ademola Ajakaye, has joined his ancestors. Oluyin died at the early hours of Friday , according to a palace source. The late Oluyin, who was the first Chief Judge of the State in 1996 at its creation, was at a time the Administrator General, National Judicial Institute (NJI). The town has begun traditional rites since Friday, which includes relocation of market and cutting of trees in the town, denoting the passage of the PeluPelu Oba. Iyin, is the town of the former Governor of Ekiti State and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Chief Niyi Adebayo and the Senator representing Ekiti Central at the Senate, Hon. Kwara govt confirms new cases of COVID-19

Kwara State Government has confirmed that it has recorded two new cases of COVID-19 in the State. The State Government on its Twitter page said the total number of COVID-19 cases is now 11. Recall that the NCDC, on Thursday confirmed 108 new cases in Nigeria, bringing the total number in the country to 981. It said it recorded 78 cases in Lagos, 14 in FCT, 5 in Ogun, 4 in Gombe, 3 in Borno, 2 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Kwara and 1 in Plateau State. Kwara government tweeted, ”As at 23 April 2020. Two new COVID-19 cases confirmed ”Total test done – 278, total confirmed cases – 11, no of active cases – 9 ”Discharged – 2, no of negative test – 187, no of pending test – 80, death -0.”
